On October 26th, we brought ghoulish glamour to the DKMS Blood Ball, which raises funds to eradicate blood cancers and disorders by encouraging people around the world to register as bone marrow and stem cell donors. 100% of proceeds from the event went directly towards this goal.
This year, our vintage style Cigarette Girls were on the scene to collect raffle tickets at the Night of Grand Giving, organized by Curtis Granderson's foundation Grand Giving & FreshDirect at the Diamond Horseshoe in the Paramount Hotel to help the fight against child hunger.
"There are more starving kids [in NYC] than there are people in the city of Miami. Think about that." - Curtis Granderson
With the raffle alone, we were able to raise close to $4,000 in tickets with a value of roughly 20,000 meals to children in need. Prizes included 2 tickets to the Mets during batting practice and a tour before the game & a signed soccer ball from field legend, Mia Hamm. Way to go, New York!
It's a truly exciting moment when we can provide entertainment and be apart of events with such admirable causes! This past February, Shien Artists in production with Jared Reichert, contributed our lovely talents to the stage of the Queen of Hearts Ball & Casino Night fundraiser at Guastavino's in NYC for CareOne in efforts to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). $1.7million was raised in the fight to eradicate breast cancer, the second leading cancer killer in American women.
